Gold industry reputation damaged by Perth Mint doping

The stellar reputation of the State’s gold industry has been “significantly” damaged by the Perth Mint’s doping scandal and could affect Goldfields miners, according to WA Liberal leader Libby Mettam.

Ms Mettam told the Kalgoorlie Miner she had spoken to local mining companies while in Kalgoorlie-Boulder this week about the scandal which saw the WA Government-owned corporation dilute gold it sold to China with the addition of silver to save money between 2018 and 2021.
