Former teammate arrested in 2006 homicide of Miami Hurricanes participant Bryan Pata

MIAMI (WSVN) – Police have made an arrest within the decade-and-a-half-old chilly case of a Miami Hurricanes soccer participant.

Miami-Dade Police have confirmed that 35-year-old Rashaun Jones has been taken into custody for the 2006 homicide of Bryan Pata, a star defensive lineman for the Hurricanes.

Police stated Jones, who’s from Lake Metropolis, Florida, was arrested with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals in Marion County. He has since been booked into the Marion County Jail.

Edwin Pata, his brother, is an assistant director recruiting for the Hurricanes’ soccer program.

Jones is predicted to be introduced again to South Florida for trial.
