At the least 57 individuals have drowned after a ship capsized off the Libyan coast close to Khums, the most recent tragedy within the central Mediterranean, the UN’s Worldwide Organisation for Migration (IOM) says.
“In line with survivors delivered to shore by fishermen and the coast guard, not less than 20 ladies and two youngsters have been amongst those that drowned,” IOM spokeswoman Safa Msehli mentioned in a tweet.
