Tasmania Police have cracked a Queensland-based drug syndicate, seizing the largest-ever haul of illicit substances and money set for the island state.
Greater than $5.5 million in cash and unlawful medicine had been claimed as a part of the operation, investigators stated in an announcement on Tuesday.
Six persons are going through fees of trafficking in a managed substance and coping with the proceeds of crime.
Some 3.8 kilograms of the drug ice was seized, together with seven kilograms of cocaine, price a mixed $4 million on the road, and $1.57 million in money.
Police performed a collection of searches of automobiles and property in Queensland and Tasmania. The haul of medication and money was the largest-ever headed for Tasmania.
